What is Conscious Discipline? Conscious Discipline is a comprehensive social and emotional intelligence classroom management program that empowers both teachers and students.

It leads teachers, providers, schools and programs through a process that promotes permanent behavior changes in both teachers and students.

It is time to become conscious of our beliefs about children, ourselves, discipline and change.

The “school Family” is the core of the program.

The foundation is to understand the point of view of the student, offer safety, connection, trust and faith.

The school invited Drs. Helen Guda, a trainer, coach, and speaker of Conscious Discipline to give an informative workshop to all the teachers of Sacred Heart School.

The workshop took place on September 25th, 2015 and was positively received by the staff. They learned some useful rituals for in and outside their classroom.

February 2016, Drs. Guda will return to Sacred Heart School to give another workshop.

The developer and author of Conscious Discipline is Dr. Becky A. Bailey from Loving Guidance.

Cooking in the Remedial /Special Ed class.

The students in Teacher Helen’s class made a delicious coleslaw.

The task was reading about the history of coleslaw and going over the recipe.

We talked about the cooking utensils, ingredients, and measurements.

The students used their Math skills during the preparation.

Some of the pictures will show the preparation. The students shared their dish with some staff members.

Well done! Shanika and Shemar
